Here's a tribute to some of my Amazing Nails!

So as well as keeping up with the latest colour trends when it comes to makeup I like my nails to look super glam as often as I Can. I met Mel Aka Miss Bliss my fabulous nail guru for just over a year and I can say hand on heart I would never go to anyone else.

Mel's focused,fun colourful attitude is what I had been searching for in Christchurch for years. I always wanted someone who could take my personality and develop it  into designs that matched my event or my outfit its safe to say Mel Nailed It every time so to speak.

So Mel you have quite the name within the beauty industry tell us how your adventures of Miss Bliss started?

Argh that still really freaks me out that so many people know Miss Bliss, I struggle to accept that it is actually me. This was just a hobby of mine that I took up because I worked for 11 years with contractors selling them pipe and fittings for subdivisions etc.

 I just needed a little girliness in my life LOL. But it really took off in May when I set up as a salon, it’s still hard to believe how fast everything has happened. I am so overwhelmed and grateful but it’s been hard work running the salon and being a wife and mother.

What are your favourite sets of nails to create?

I LOVE it when people bring in something to match to. It is so incredibly rewarding to actually have them walk away happy and shocked that their nails actually match by a pattern or whatever it is.  I also really love having stories with the nails, it makes it so much fun.

Do you see any patterns forming for new trends of nail art and design?

I was watching the Golden Globes the other day and saw a lot of Nudes and I have also been getting a lot of requests from brides lately for lace designs. We will just have to wait and see ;)

What would be your advice for girls looking to be a nail technician themselves?

OMG GO FOR IT. This is one decision I am SO glad I made. This is such a fun job, it’s hard to remember it’s actually work sometimes. I would just recommend that you do your full training and choose you course wisely. I am an Educator too, so if you want to know more just flick me an email, I am always happy to help others.

Where do you get your inspiration from when starting from scratch?

Hmmm well most people come in with a picture or their own idea. Often we collaborate to maybe change it up because I don’t like copying other people designs but at the end of the day there are so many trends going around. My own nails though, I always sit down with an idea in my head and then the end result is NEVER that hahaha.

What do you see in the future for “Miss Bliss”

Wow I actually see a huge future for Miss Bliss, this year alone there are some massive things happening. I am such a motivated and driven person, I have a dream of where I want it to be and I’ll do it .You have to be confident and believe in what you are doing, it’s much easier to reach your goals that way.
