With time ticking away and the end of Autumn approaching fast, I think it's important to still keep colour within your daily makeup routine. A great way to add a pop of something bright and fun is through your pretty little apples that sit ever so proudly upon your cheeks.
With those of you who tend to stick to something a little more neutral on your pout, adding a shade like Springsheen or Fleur Power to your blush line will warm your appearance on those cold rainy days. If your new to the world of contouring, using a darker shade of concealer or even a matte toned bronzer is your starting point to the perfect glow all year round. I love Too Faced Chocolate Soileil Matte Bronzer and MAC Skinfinish Concealer.
Focusing on just under your cheekbone, the temple area and jawline are the points where light naturally hits. Adding a deeper tone to these area help bring forward your features. As I explain to my clients, you work your contouring product onto the face in the shape of a backwards #3. If you feel other areas such as the nose need some loving too you can also feel free to add a little there also.
The key to perfect contouring is product placement and blending. You don't need to pack on a whole heap of product, as it's where it's placed that will be the make or break of the look you are trying to achieve.Always remember a heavy hand can make you look muddy so be sure to surround yourself in good lighting and always have a mirror within reach.
Once you have finished up your contouring you can now move on to adding that pop of colour onto the apples of your cheeks.Starting on the apples and blending upwards towards the hairline gives an application that follows your natural smile line.
Going for shades that suit your skintone are always a great start, but if you feel more comfortable in something a little more subtle or bold then I suggest you go for that. I absolutely love MAC Shades Melba, Springsheen, Fleur Power,Sunbasque and NARS Orgasm against my skintone, I reach for these on a daily basis.
Adding colour warms your heart and soul so whichever shade you choose to go for this Autumn/Winter be sure to pair it with a smile ♥
