My Product Picks for a Strong Eyebrow Game ♥

Eyebrows - they come in all different shapes and sizes, but their main purpose is to shape the face and define your beautiful features that sit beneath.

Within my years of working in the industry I have found that Brows seem to be one of those topics that people either love, hate or just simply have never seen the difference that a filled in brow can make to their face. With the market for a good brow product growing every day, companies seem to be putting their creative caps on and challenging each other to see who can bring out the next best thing.

So where do you start when on the hunt for that one product that can bring your Eyebrow Game from Zero to Hero? Here's where I come in with a little advice for my fellow beauty lovers! The best tip I could ever give to start you off is to head to your local beauty therapist and while your having your eyebrow shape done ask for a tint too.

Although a tint doesn't last that long it's great for those new to the eyebrow game as it gives you a taste as to the difference of what a little filling in and depth can do for your face shape and features. I always ask for a shade a little lighter than my hair colour as I find it then appears more naturally defined - this of course is totally a personal preference.

So you love the results of what the tint has given you, so where do you start when your wanting to step into something that can be done daily?

Beginners - I love Brow Gels, these are so easy to apply with most having a spooly applicator which allows the product to be distributed evenly and naturally. Not only does it make for easy application but the comb also grooms the brows as you go, putting in place every hair even those little baby strays.I use my MAC Brow Gel in shade Beguile daily for work as it's waterproof, smudge proof and overall gives a fantastic finish.

Brow Gels come in tinted shades and clear, which is why I totally think everyone should own the clear at least as it is perfect for those natural days where your strays need to be put in place or just to set your look all together.

Brows Gels I have tried and recommend:

- Urban Decay Urbanbrow Setting Gel
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
- NYX Control Freak
- MAC Brow Gel Clear and Tinted

For those a little more confident when it comes to building up colour, this is where powders and pencils come in. I really like to use a more gel/cream like product to define my arch and overall shape of the brows themselves.Powder based products are great for naturally filling the brows so I just find them more versatile as you can easily build it up for a more intense look.

Matte eye-shadows believe it or not make for a perfect powder, it's easier to find a shade to suit each and every tone of brow and they are so long wearing/smudge proof it's unreal. Colours I use a lot in my kit are MAC Mystery, MAC Omega and MAC Soft Brown.

Powder's I have tried and recommend:

- Urban Decay Brow Box
- E.L.F Brow Kit (I use Shade Ash)
- Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings
- Smashbox Cosmetics Brow Trio

If the powder and brush technique isn't for you there's always the option of a pencil, these give you great ease of use and full control over where the product is applied.  Always have a brow comb on hand to even out the product as I find that pencils can be quite harsh if you don't work with them quickly.

Soap and Glory Archery Brow is my go to at the moment, this dual ended product has a thin marker pen tip on one end and the pencil on the other. The colour is great for my brows and the marker is perfect for creating a crisp shape. If you have access to Soap and Glory products this is one product you NEED in your life.

Pencils I have tried and recommend:

- Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil ( I use Shade Mahogany)
- MAC Brow Pencil (I use shade Lingering )
- Maybelline Master Shape Brow pencil (I use shade Soft Brown)
- Smashbox Cosmetics Brows to go

Gels/Creams - The key with these is less is more, brows are there to bring forward your features and although there is no right or wrong when it comes to cosmetics and everything comes down to personal preference, heavy brows can often take away focus from the features that truly deserve all the attention.

My top recommendation's for Gel style brow products would be Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme and Napoleon Perdis Browtox. For budge-proof brows that will go the distance there's no need to look any further, these three have got you covered and are worth every cent of your investment.

I love that with Napoleon Perdis Browtox the one shade is universal for those with fair to dark brows. It's some kind of a magic being that custom adapts to your brow toning after a few seconds of application. Like the other products above a little really does go a long way.

Shape is everything when it comes to having strong brow game, gently using your pencil and a brush you can recreate the below image. This image shows the main points of where the brow should Start, Arch and Finish. Once you get the hang of it, your brow routine will become a breeze.

Tip: Having a cream concealer on hand is always a lifesaver, this is perfect to tidy up any little mistakes afterwards.

At the end of the day it comes down to experimenting to find out what products work for you, I advise you to grab one of each style then you can play with the textures and see how you can get them to work together or alone. Brows are so important and can literally take a few years off the way you look, so what are you waiting for get experimenting and have fun!

But always remember your brows are Sisters NOT Twins - that is key to strong Brow Game.
