♥ Labels Of Luxury ♥

So the Million Dollar Question is does your wallet have a weakness for high end cosmetics?

With drugstore products making a comeback with some very tempting competition that I love a little to much, I wanted to know how many of you like to still splash out on some of life's little luxuries.

Having worked for Chanel during my cosmetic career, it is safe to say there will forever remain a weakness within my wallet to splurge on some of my faves. I don't know whether it's the story behind every lipstick, the relation to the life of Mademoiselle behind every palette or simply the ingredients bound into pure indulgence, but there's something about owning a piece of history that makes me weak at the knees.

Dior, Chanel and YSL as we all know started in the fashion industry, creating a persona that only those of  higher wealth could afford when they stepped into the colourful world of beauty. With ladies lining the streets to be the first to wear that Rouge Red lipstick that Marilyn Monroe so Confidently wore , history was most definitely made when makeup became a luxury all by itself. It didn't matter what brand graced the front of your compact, cosmetics had opened up a world of opportunity and a way for woman to gain instant confidence, which of course had hit it's peak.

So what is the difference between Drugstore cosmetics and those of a higher price point?

You will find the price point of luxury items tends to sit higher than those of MAC or Smashbox status. This is due to the fact that these houses have been around for years and only use the purest and most uncommonly found ingredients to create their products with. Packaging is also another reason as to why we pay what we do for that famously known double C.

Down to the black lacquer that coats every inch of Chanel's cosmetic range, to those perfectly fitted mirrors that reflect light in the most amazing way, it is sad to say woman will always be tempted by a brand name at least 70% of the time as apposed to the beautiful product that sits inside those hand made compacts.

I personally will forever indulge in these brands as the quality is the selling point for me. Dior have a range that stretches afar with some of the best foundations I have ever owned. YSL have those super creamy Rouge Volupt Lipsticks that are enough to make your heart melt and don't even get me started on that shiny gold packaging that sits ever so perfectly on your bathroom vanity.

It's not about owning a lot of these particular products, but to have one experience that makes you feel all warm and goey inside is a feeling that can never be replaced. I would love to encourage you all to dabble in at least one item from these brands, it will forever hold a place in your heart like no other.

So tell me, as well as the normal must have makeup brands do you have a weakness for the glitz and glam of the cosmetic world, like I often do?

P.s I will have product reviews and swatches of my personal high end collection, going live over the next couple of days ♥
